A sworn love forever to be cherished
Broken by lust never known
Somebody catch my breath!
It seems I can't gasp for my own
A friendship rests now un-peacefully in re-spun soil
Replaced with bitter betrayal and unforgiven hatred
Replaced by reconciliations and empty promises

But oh!- I fret no more for broken loyalties!
What's done is now, yet never free
From the broken heart that came to me

When you look up will you catch mine eyes
And look away with the shame of lies
Perched on your conscience shoulder?
Turn your cheek, never speak
You were nothing then, are nothing now, and will be nothing ever

Admiration reduced to apathy
Stoically throwing truth to depravity
Somebody stop that heart!
It seems that love is yours to squander
A new love now burns fire where the old had died
Replacing banality and fallacious sweetness
Replacing a promise, ephemeral, to suit convenience

But oh!-I fret no more for broken loyalties!
What's done is now, yet never free
From the broken heart that came to me!

Forever sing of your denied wrongs in the false name of love
In my soul, it's engraved and screaming:
'LOYALTY IS THICKER THAN BLOOD!'

Author's Comments

This is dedicated to the boy who I use to love as a brother and as a part of my soul. He meant the world to me and much more, until he chose a girl who had just come back into his life over our friendship and our promise to each other about this girl. He cares nothing about me anymore, I'm simply just a past and I've been replaced and our friendship is invalid.

Here's to my mistake.

**2009 Update: My friend and I patched things up not too long after I wrote this song. Now that I think about it, what we fought over was so silly. Ha!

Yea, and the betrayal is stacking up, higher and higher as this month progresses and lies are being revealed left and right. God, November 2004 sucks.
